What is Jeunesse Idem?

Jeunesse Idem is a program for youth between the ages of 14 to 25 offering a discussion group for young gays, lesbians, bisexuals, trans-genders, transsexuals and people questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity to promote self-acceptance through several themes and workshops. The group also offers social events where young people can meet other people who have the same concerns. Jeunesse Idem is the only resource of information and support for LGBTTQ youth throughout the Outaouais.

Jeunesse Idem also offers individual intervention in person, by phone or via the internet service. The program agent offers workshops on demystifying sexual orientation and gender identity and homophobia. He / she also provides information and services to other professionals in the community focusing on youth, as well as offering support to families of young people who have difficulty understanding or accepting the disclosure of sexual orientation or gender identity of their child.

Jeunesse Idem’s mandate is to break isolation of young people, enabling them to share with their peers without being judged, to be well informed and give them a better quality of life! Please note that the discussion groups are only available in French.
